What Does Delayed Period Along With Spotting And Headache Indicate?

I would like find out what the possibility is for being pregnant? About 3 and a half weeks ago just a day after my period my partner and I had unprotected sex. Two days later I took a morning after pill. I have been feeling very nauseous throughout the whole day for the past 4 days with severe headaches. Ive also seen some spotting which was gone after two days. I am suppose to have my period in about 2 days and already took a home pregnancy test yesterday which came back negative. I must also add that I have been feeling very tired as well and had some back and abdominal pain. Please also take note that I have been under a lot of stress over the past few weeks as I have been working overtime almost every night and am under a lot of pressure at work. What are the chances of being pregnant if it was a day after my last period and I took the morning after pill and I am also not surr if he did actually ejaculated inside me (I know you can still get pregnant from pre-ejaculation)

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
If you had unprotected intercourse just a day after your periods, the possibility of getting pregnant is less even if he has ejaculated inside you as it is the time which is not your fertile period. Moreover, you state to have taken emergency contraceptive pill 2 days following that, which should offer protection against pregnancy, as it is within the specified time.
However, since the period has been delayed, it should have put you in worry. One reason why your periods could have been delayed could be due to the stress what you have been in.
In any case, the pill should offer protection against pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of intake of the pill. If this doesn't happen, you need to seek medical attention immediately. Remember, the morning-after pill has a failure rate of 10 to 15% and earlier it is taken, protection seems to be better.
You would certainly require an ultrasound abdomen scan and Gynecologist consultation for clinical examination to know what would be the present status.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
